Tibro Multi - Saturday 29/10

Wed Oct 05, 2016 3:06 pm

Climbs: Mt Tibrogargan provides many great quality sport multipitches, up to a height of over 100m, including troposphere, an excellent grade 17 route, as well as other easy classics like Zeitgiest and Line of Credit. With climbs getting harder up into the 20’s, there's even something those who are looking for a challenge. (note multipitching is probably not the best place to push your climbing grades)

Multipitching is a vastly different experience to single pitch climbing, and as such there are other considerations to be taken into account. It is strongly recommended that you know Rescue Skills 1, and you must be competent at lead belaying and seconding. Seconder sign-off is required and RS1 is recommended.

People will be teamed up in pairs or groups of 3, with at least one signed off multi leader in each group. I will be organising this based on the number of leaders we have, and if we are short on leaders, I will go on the basis of first in best dressed with forum signups.

What to bring: For a Multipitch you will need to bring with you some food and plenty of water, as it has the potential to be a very long day. A head torch is recommended just in case you get caught in the dark (very rare), and at least one member of your party should be carrying a mobile phone. Tibro does get signal, apart from this pack light, whatever you carry you have to climb with, camelbaks are recommended over water bottles.

Transport: We will meet at the usual location at KP, for a 8am departure to make the most of the day. Meet at 7:45am, because if you're late, you will be left behind.

Gear: Don't forget to talk to the quartermasters about gear, they will not organise it for you.

Sign up below in the usual format, and I shall see you there. Sign-ups close Thursday 27/10 at 7pm.
